Tourism Malaysia work closely with the Malaysia Association of Angling or better known as Persatuan Memancing Malaysia (PeMM) and State Government in promoting angling activities around Malaysia . PeMM is an NGO registered in 1990 with its main objective to promote angling activities and create public awareness on the importance of preserving aquatic life.
PeMM is also active in managing educational programs on fishing to students and general public. The organization takes the conservation of local species and the protection of the environment, and promotes the catch and release doctrine.
Tourism Malaysia support the Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge organized by Pahang State Government and Tourism Pahang. This annual internationally well-known program promotes the sport fishing in Rompin. The concept of the game is' catch and release' has gained attention and it has gathered dedicated fans since its first launch.
